Preparation for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist

At Our Lady of Grace, students in grade 2 and higher may prepare for the sacraments of First Reconciliation (confession) and First Eucharist (communion).  To register for the 2024-2025 preparation program, please complete this online registration form or pick up a form off the bulletin board in the classroom hallway.  To receive these sacraments at Our Lady of Grace, students in public school and home school must 1) attend Faith Formation classes and 2) participate in the extra retreats, homework, etc., that are a part of preparation for these two sacraments.  Bishop Ryan Catholic School students do not need to attend Faith Formation classes; however, they must participate in the extra retreats, homework, etc., that are a part of preparation for these two sacraments.

The preparation programs begin with orientation meetings for students and parents.  The First Reconciliation orientation meeting is offered at two different times, either Thu., Oct. 10, at 6:00 p.m. or Sun., Oct. 13, at 1:00 p.m.  Children prepare for this sacrament during October and November and will receive the sacrament of First Reconciliation on Sat., Dec. 7.

The First Eucharist orientation meeting is also offered at two different times, either Sun., Jan. 26, at 1:00 p.m. or Thu., Jan. 30, at 6:00 p.m.  Children prepare for this sacrament during February, March and April, and will receive the sacrament of First Eucharist on Sat., Apr. 26 during the 4:00 p.m. Mass, or on Sun., Apr. 27, during the 10:30 a.m. Mass.
